Conventional Order of a Title Sequence

In the conventional order of a title sequence, the Production company(s) are/is the first name(s) to appear on the screen. The production companies are followed by the distributors and then the names of the actors appear. After the actors have been named the order of the title sequence is casting, costume design, music supervisor, editor, production designer, director of photographer, co producers and co executive producers,  and lastly executive producer. ( sometimes more people will be given credit in the opening such as the writer of the film, but not always).

Here is the conventional timeline in a clearer format (based on the opening of the film The Stepfather:

- Production company 1
- Distribution company
- Production company 2 &3 & 4
- Film Title
- Actor 1
- Actor 2
- Actor 3
- Actor 4
- Actor 5
- Actor 6
- Actor 7
- Actors 8 & 9
- Actors 10 & 11 & 12
- Casting by

- The order of the title sequence varies from film to film, a good example of this is when the famous actors are named before the actual title of the film, this is to lure in a large audience and it also reassured the audience that they are watching a film of good acting quality.

- Conventionally the screen titles are not supposed to distract the viewer from what is happening in the film,
so they are usually placed in the corner of the screen, they are usually in a sans serif (simple) font and in basic colours such as black, white or grey.

(pictures of screen titles from film and picture of timeline will be put up soon)........
